A new build five bedroom house overlooking Bracklesham Bay,West Sussex. An existing house will be demolished.The plot is long and narrow. The site is situated directly on the shingle beach with views of the Isle of Wight. Our concept was to make an inward looking, light filled house that is planned around a central lightwell with one large ‘floating’ room on top that looks directly onto the sea. The house has two floors with sleeping and guest accommodation on the ground floor. Energy saving technologies such as the use of photovoltaic cells and recycling of gray waters will make the building sustainable. Full Planning Permission was achieved in 2004.
