Stones

The brief called for a total of 14 different courts with two distinct circulation routes that would separate the judges from the public. We saw each court as an individual stone, or pebble, which was suspended over the public facilities in a loose grouping that formed the main circulation area. Judges entered their courtrooms by private bridges while the public climbed up through the cracks between the stones. The ground level was a open public landscape of civic and leisure activities.
