Boyarsky Murphy Architects have won planning permission for an excavated new build house in Wandsworth. This follows four rejected planning applications and one appeal on the grounds that the modern design would be out of keeping with neighbouring properties. The scheme was only acceptable as a one-storey house from the street with two metre high boundary walls. The three storey 180m2 house is organised around a seven metre deep courtyard. Bedrooms are at ground level with living below, the courtyard floor has pool and jacuzzi. A green roof is punctured with a variety of shaped rooflights to bring light down into the house. Construction is due to start later this year. |
